Byron Kaverman confirms his superstar status by winning the EPT Season 12 Malta €10,300 High Roller

Poker professionals surely know that the main events of important poker tours are not actually EPT 12 Malta Event 66 Vincente Diego Zamorano-6572the ones paying the biggest amounts these days.

It is the highroller tournament that are the most exciting, but the fact that they’ve got the prohibitive buy in means that they spend less time in the spotlight.

The same players returned to the tables to participate in these competitions and they are almost always professionals who also have a lot of money to spend.

The 2015 PokerStars.com EPT Season 12 Malta €10,300 High Roller took place in the second half of last week and The Casino at Portomaso was the gracious host.

As always, Europeans were the ones that dominate in the side events, mainly due to the fact that the tournament takes place in Malta. On the other hand, the highroller competition brought together plenty of Americans and the final table was full of them

Byron Kaverman has won a lot of money both over the Internet and playing in brick-and-mortar casinos and he never shied away from playing in highroller tournaments. He can well afford to spend a four digit amount to buy in and the moment he made the final table, he was certain to enjoy a generous return on investment.

Five players were eliminated in short succession and together they collected almost half €1 million, reducing the fields to just four players.

It was a pretty interesting confrontation, with two Americans and two poker professionals from Belarus being the last man standing out of a total of 210 entries. The players from Belarus were the ones to be sent to the rail early on and the remaining Americans decided not to split the money but fight for all the chips.

Byron Kaverman proved to be more than a match for Mukul Pahuja was finally eliminated in the second-place and collected a cool €290,000.

Byron won the first prize, the corresponding bracelet and also the respect of those watching the tournament from the premises or online. These were the final table results:
